Business helpdesk service camp benefits local entrepreneurs

A two-day business helpdesk service camp was organized in ward no. 5 and 6 of Myagang rural municipality in Nuwakot district on 7th and 8th February 2021 with technical support from Nuwakot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI). The programme supported in strengthening collaboration of local governments with private sector in formalizing business entities.

A total of 38 entrepreneurs including 15 females benefitted from the helpdesk camp. 37 entrepreneurs registered their business with gaunpalikas, amongst which, 35 community people were from disadvantaged group and one single woman received taxation facilitation. PAN card for these entrepreneurs are in process through helpdesk facilitation. Tax clearance for one individual is also in process. Under Purnima’s support in recovery of local economy by increasing incomes and catalyzing investments through partnership with private sectors, the help desk service camp was organized with objectives a) to sensitize ward-level staff and elected representatives in the process of business registration, b)to provide business-related information to non-registered MSMEs, c) to facilitate MSMEs in the documentation for registration and support to preparing documentation for processing PAN card from the tax office, and d) to support entrepreneurs in paying their taxes, etc.

The benefitted community entrepreneurs shared the advantage of doing business by registering in respective government agencies. “We feel happy in getting registration support and facilitation for documentation at local level that is free,” said most of the entrepreneurs. “It is a good opportunity to understand government procedures and business-related supports available,” they added.

The mobile helpdesk was organized in presence of Ms. Shanti Lama (Gurung) Vice President of Myagang Rural Municipality, Mr. Pawan Kumar Pyakurel, Chief Administrative Officer of Myagang rural municipality, Mr. Atam Bahadur Tamang (Gole) ward President of Myagang 6 and staff of other Gaupalikas and ward no. 6. Vice President appreciated the programme and requested to continue such facilitation to MSMEs interested in business registration in other wards of Myagang as well.
