Supporting vulnerable communities access subsidized loan

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between local governments of seven Palikas in Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha districts and eight commercial banks were successfully signed to support vulnerable community people access subsidized loan schemes introduced by the Government of Nepal in 2018.

The significant step facilitated by Purnima programme is ensuring the reach of loan by targeted community members. It will encourage palikas to target right people who will enjoy the benefits of loans to start their businesses/enterprises and will also support with required technical trainings. Additionally, as a collateral free loan, the MoU will lower the perceived risks of untimely payment of loans.

Subsidized loan schemes introduced by the government has huge potential to help poor and marginalized people uplift their lives by providing much needed capital at affordable rate, and Purnima programme is supporting with the facilitation to ensure no one is left behind.
